OUR STORY
Efemera was created to capture the quiet, fleeting moments that shape our lives.
A laugh, a glance that lingers, a familiar scent, a gentle touch. Moments that pass in an instant, yet leave lasting impressions on the heart.
The name itself comes from ephemeral, a reminder that the most meaningful experiences in life are often the most transient. We believe the jewelry we wear becomes a quiet witness to those moments, carrying their presence long after the moment has passed.
HANDMADE IN NEW YORK CITY

SoHo cobblestones. Cast-iron galleries. The energy of a city that never stops making.
Every Efemera piece begins with an original design from its founder and jewelry artist Jee Hye Kwon. Starting with a spark of inspiration, each idea is meticulously refined until a cohesive concept can be visualized, and finally carved by hand into a wax model. Each piece is cast in 14k gold or sterling silver using the lost-wax casting process. Every surface is carefully smoothed of imperfections, assembled, and polished by hand with meticulous attention to detail.
Nothing sits in inventory. Each piece is made to order, crafted specifically for you. This means a 3–4 week production time, but it also means your piece carries the intention and care of being made just for this moment in your life.

We favor asymmetry, subtle tension, and forms that feel alive rather than static. Every curve and edge serves a deliberate purpose — nothing is accidental, yet nothing feels forced.

14k Yellow Gold
58.3% pure gold alloyed with copper and silver. Harder than 18k, so delicate organic tendrils survive daily wear. The alloy flows better when molten, filling the finest sculptural details. A warm buttery tone that looks like it grew rather than was manufactured.
Japanese Akoya Pearl
Celebrated for their exceptional luster and beautifully round shape, they offer a modern expression of timeless craftmanship. Their luminous beauty and refined character bring depth, elegance, and a sense of understated luxury to every piece.
Hand-Painted Enamel
Applied by hand on sterling silver — the most reflective metal, which makes every color more vivid. Each polka dot, each stripe, each marble swirl is individually filled. The result: no two rings are twins, only sisters.
Sterling Silver
92.5% pure silver — the most reflective metal on earth. When enamel is applied over silver, colors appear more vivid than over any other surface. The silver acts as a mirror behind the glass, amplifying every hue.
Moonstone
That floating blue glow comes from microscopic layers formed when ancient magma cooled. Two feldspar species separated at the molecular level, scattering light the same way the sky turns blue.
Tourmaline
African tourmaline is prized for its wide range of natural colors and bright luster. Formed over millions of years, each gemstone displays its own unique character, bringing vibrant depth and refined elegance.
