OUR STORY
Efemera was created to capture the quiet, fleeting moments that shape our lives.
A laugh, a glance that lingers, a familiar scent, a gentle touch — moments that pass in an instant yet leave lasting impressions on the heart.
The name itself comes from ephemeral — a reminder that the most meaningful things in life are often the most transient. We believe the adornments you wear become quiet witnesses to those memories, letting the joy of past moments sparkle again whenever you see them.
HANDMADE IN NEW YORK CITY
The city is the studio
SoHo cobblestones. Cast-iron galleries. The energy of a city that never stops making.
Every Efemera piece is handcrafted in New York City. Each begins as hand-carved wax, cast in molten 14k gold using lost-wax casting — the same technique goldsmiths have used since 3000 BCE. Then filed, sanded through progressively finer grits, and polished by hand at the bench.
Nothing sits in inventory. Each piece is made to order, crafted specifically for you. This means a 3–4 week production time, but it also means your piece carries the intention and care of being made just for this moment in your life.
THE DESIGN
Every piece of Efemera jewelry is designed as a small sculpture.
We favor asymmetry, subtle tension, and forms that feel alive rather than static. Every curve and edge serves a deliberate purpose — nothing is accidental, yet nothing feels forced.
Each piece is designed with intention. From the materials, to the emotions and meaning. We believe beauty is not only in the sparkle of gold or pearls, but in the story each piece comes to hold for the one who wears it.
14k Yellow Gold
58.3% pure gold alloyed with copper and silver. Harder than 18k, so delicate organic tendrils survive daily wear. The alloy flows better when molten, filling the finest sculptural details. A warm buttery tone that looks like it grew rather than was manufactured.
Freshwater Pearls
Solid nacre all the way through. Thousands of microscopic aragonite layers create luster through the same physics that makes the sky blue. No two pearls reflect light identically. We choose baroque shapes because they belong in nature, not a display case.
Hand-Painted Enamel
Applied by hand on sterling silver — the most reflective metal, which makes every color more vivid. Each polka dot, each stripe, each marble swirl is individually filled. The result: no two rings are twins, only sisters.
Sterling Silver
92.5% pure silver — the most reflective metal on earth. When enamel is applied over silver, colors appear more vivid than over any other surface. The silver acts as a mirror behind the glass, amplifying every hue.
Moonstone
That floating blue glow comes from microscopic layers formed when ancient magma cooled. Two feldspar species separated at the molecular level, scattering light the same way the sky turns blue. We cut every moonstone as a cabochon to focus the glow.
Aquamarine
Latin for "water of the sea." Iron traces in beryl crystal create the blue-green. We cut ours as cabochons — where faceted aquamarine looks like ice, a cabochon looks like the sea. A deep, still pool of color that glows from within.
African Tourmaline
From artisanal mines in Mozambique and Tanzania. Its crystal structure incorporates nearly every element — more colors than any other gemstone. We choose African sources for the extraordinary saturation and the traceable supply chain.

Draped in Time — Bold hand-painted enamel on sterling silver. Chunky organic shapes draped like fabric, alive with polka dots, marble swirls, and vivid color. Each ring is a small act of self-expression — playful, confident, and impossible to ignore.
